Bristol based financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown voted HBH as their charity of the year for 2020.
Together we had lots of exciting fundraising plans including our famous art auction, but as we all know the pandemic saw most plans for 2020 ruined. Despite this, Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) continued to support us, raising money through other fundraising activities and donations from them and their generous employees.
In the summer of 2020 we were able to purchase the wellbeing centre which was funded and sponsored by HL. We’re still in the process of kitting out and finishing off plans for the wellbeing centre, and can’t wait for it to be used by our residents as well as homeless people across Bristol.
As we say goodbye to 2020 and being HL’s charity partner, we’ve just received the final amount they have raised for us, and we are so incredibly grateful to receive a whopping £89,000!
As all small charities will know, the pandemic has been extremely challenging – as fundraising events are few and far between, and donations slow. The amount we’ve received from HL will help us survive and simply keep us going.
So we’d like to say a huge thank you to HL for your support over the last year, despite the difficulties everyone has gone through with the pandemic. This money is going to make a massive difference to our small charity.
