Long Ashton Easter Fair

Words: Amy on April 25, 2019

Long Ashton is well-known for its community spirit and over the Easter weekend, the residents of this lovely village sure lived up to their reputation.

For some time now we have had one of the residents, Kate Bolton volunteering with us. Kate started out by creating Christmas gifts for the homeless with her family and has since then gone on to organise events to help raise funds for our project.

This Easter weekend Kate and her family organised a brilliant Easter Fair at the Long Ashton Community centre.

There was fun for all the family that included an Easter egg hunt, sand sculpting, pottery painting, a tombola and raffle that boosted some awesome prizes like a PS4 and a balloon trip.

In the main hall, there were over 30 stalls that had something for everyone, and outside families were able to enjoy a tasty burger from the Bap Mobile and nice ice cream.

Kate said: “The day went really well, and it had such a community feel about it.”

It was a great day, and we are pleased to inform you that through Kate’s hard work, and with the support of the Long Ashton community they raised a whopping £1.5k.

The day went really well, and it had such a community feel about it.

We would like to thank everyone that helped on the day and give a special thanks to Dave Bolton for his guest appearance as the Easter bunny.

Well done Kate, you are an asset to the HBH team, and we are looking forward to see what you do next.
