Robert Earnshaw

A Pillar of Help Bristol’s Homeless

Robert Earnshaw who was an integral part of Help Bristol’s Homeless, sadly passed away on the 31st of January. Rob was a friend to many at HBH. He was a champion of the organisation and cause of HBH. His memory will live on and inspire others.

At request of Rob’s family HBH helped to raise money for a new container in memory of Robert Earnshaw. On 12th March 2021 we successfully raised £3,720 ( + est. £682.50  ) with 103 supporters in 28 days. We thank the community who supported this fundraiser.

The fundraiser has closed but we need to continue to raise money if we are going to be able to achieve the family’s wishes for an entire micro flat in his name.

Christmas shoe boxes to homemade meals

Supporting Outreach Services

A positive outcome of the pandemic is that we have strengthened our support for, and links with Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless (BOSH). They have continued their frontline daily work throughout, and we support them to do so with food and essential items.

The huge success of the Christmas shoe box and rucksack appeal (hundreds of them arrived at the project and even more bags of items to go in them as well) meant we held a Christmas outreach event ourselves, AND we were able to go and take boxes to local support groups and shelters for homeless as well as a women’s refugee shelter.
We have also arranged to support BOSH with provision of meals for them to deliver at their outreach 2 times a week at least and this is being sponsored on our side by a grant from the Newby Trust.

This means that our chef, Clive, with support from another residents, can be funded to make meals for outreach for those living on the streets in Bristol. Follow us on Facebook to see what comes out of our kitchen!
