Wellbeing Programme

At Help Bristol’s Homeless, we believe that providing a home is only the first step toward a fresh start. That’s why our wellbeing services are so vital, offering the dedicated mental health and personal support our residents need to heal, rebuild their confidence, and begin their journey toward a thriving, independent life.

Meet Claire, our Resident Mentor
Claire’s here to help motivate and lift the clouds, working miracles to help residents move forward and envision the steps necessary to accomplish their broader life goals. Whether its future employment, finding opportunities to overcome wellbeing gaps, making applications for all manner of services, or preparing for interviews, Claire has you covered!

Meet Chris, our monthly Masseur
Chris is here to work through the knots tying up all those stresses. Chris has worked in Formula 1 across the globe, toured with great bands like Faithless, Feeder, and the Spice Girls, refining his techniques to help residents’ bodies and minds relax, rejuvenate, and heal.

Meet Samantha, our Sanctuary Counsellor
Sam attends the project fortnightly to support residents experiencing personal hardship, keeping all discussions private and confidential. She is an experienced integrative counsellor with a background in working with anxiety, depression, low confidence and self-esteem, relationship issues, bereavement, and domestic abuse.

Meet Pietro, our mens Mental Health and Addiction Supporter
Pietro visits the project once a month to provide help and support to residents facing addiction issues. As a former addict who has been clean and sober for six and a half years, he has firsthand experience of the struggles of addiction.

“I was once in a difficult place myself, but I found a way to overcome my addiction. Helping others do the same is my way of giving back; it saved my life, and it helps me just as much as it helps them”.

Meet Emily, our Healthcare Practitioner
Emily frequently visits to ensure that the project provides a safe, substance-free, refuge for all our residents. Regular and irregular on the spot testing ensures that we do everything we can to deliver on our ‘dry site’ policy.

Meet Ella, our Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service (WRAMAS) Adviser
In partnership with Bristol City Council, we provide direct advocacy to help residents navigate the welfare system. Ella is seconded to our project fortnightly to break down the barriers that often prevent people from accessing their legal entitlements.

  • Expert Assistance: Hands-on support for Universal Credit and Work Capability Assessments.

  • Disability Advocacy: Specialist help with PIP (Personal Independence Payment), ensuring those with long-term health conditions or disabilities receive the correct support.

  • The Goal: Removing administrative stress and travel barriers by bringing expert council services directly to the village.

Weston College
In collaboration with the college, we host weekly sessions in our Spring Street Wellbeing Centre to bridge the gap between homelessness and a stable career. These sessions are designed to build both professional skills and personal resilience.

  • Career Readiness: Practical assistance with CV development, cover letters, and interview preparation.

  • Life Skills: Essential guidance on money management and overall wellbeing.

  • The Goal: Equipping residents with the tools and confidence to navigate education, employment, and future opportunities.
