It’s safe to say that the weather hasn’t been kind at this year’s Balloon Fiesta. Despite the wet and windy conditions, the HBH team spirit was not dampened as we showcased our new John Lewis Micro Flat.
Some time ago we posted on social media about the incredible donation of £10,000 that we received from John Lewis Cribbs Causeway.
The generous donation was to help us pay for the conversion and kitting out of our newest micro flat, and we are chuffed to bits with the finished result.
Alan Andrews from John Lewis Cribbs Causeway joined us for the event, and after a good look around the new micro flat, it was clear that Alan was very happy with how we had made use of the donation.
Our managing director Jasper Thompson expressed that; “We are incredibly grateful to John Lewis for the support of our project. Thank you very much to Alan Andrews for taking his time out to visit us, it was lovely to meet him. It was a great event and well received by members of the public, who came from up and down the country as well as abroad. Huge thanks to the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta for having us, we look forward to seeing you all next year.”
This year’s event was the 40th anniversary of Bristol’s prestigious International Balloon Fiesta, and it’s estimated that over 400,000 people attended the long weekend.
We indeed received our fair share of the visitors, and our team of volunteers were certainly kept busy. It’s been an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the work that we are doing to help Bristol’s homeless.
